Delaware Public Health Laboratory

Delaware Public Health Lab’s (DPHL) wastewater surveillance testing is a predictive method to monitor disease for a more rapid public health response for the entire state of Delaware. Currently, the lab is running 35 wastewater samples per week to detect SARS-CoV-2, influenza virus A and B, mpox, and norovirus. They are planning to add Candida auris to their testing library in the near future.

The Need
-
Better recovery
-
Ability to quickly add new targets with a single solution
-
Less hands-on time

Results
-
3-6-fold Improved recovery
-
Increased throughput and less hands-on time
-
Provides ‘infinity binding’, allowing the lab to add new targets, e.g. mpox, to their workflow quickly
-
Extremely responsive support

The Solution
“Incorporating the Nanotrap Particles within our workflow has saved a lot of time. Since we’re using the automated Nanotrap Solution, we get to put it (the sample) on an instrument and walk away, which has saved a ton of time.”
– Ali Janik, Microbiologist lll at Delaware Public Health Lab
