Nanotrap Microbiome Particles

Labs around the world are using Nanotrap® Microbiome Particles to capture and concentrate microbes from samples in order to improve detection of those microbes.

The Nanotrap Microbiome A Particles have been demonstrated to capture and concentrate a wide range of microbes, including: influenza A virus (1), influenza B virus (1), respiratory syncytial virus (1), coronavirus 229E (1), coronavirus OC43 (2), SARS-CoV-2 (3)(4), Zika virus (10), Chikungunya virus (10), dengue virus (10), pepper mild mottle virus (12), hepatitis A virus (16), monkeypox virus (17), and norovirus GII (19).   ​

The Nanotrap Microbiome B Particles have been demonstrated to capture and concentrate a wide range of microbes, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, Campylobacter jejuni, Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridioides difficile, and crAssphage.(18)(19)

Product Description

  • Methods developed for clinical swab samples, saliva, urine, wastewater, and blackwater.

  • Compatible with PCR, sequencing, or immunoassay analysis methods.

  • Enables rapid and simple automated or manual methods for preparing wastewater samples for nucleic acid extraction, without filtration, centrifugation, or bead-beating.

  • Successfully utilized in high-complexity and point-of-care RT-PCR assays with FDA Emergency Use Authorization for COVID-19.

  • Nanotrap® particles utilize affinity capture to attract and bind low abundance microbes. Nanotrap® particles do not utilize antibodies or other biomolecules as affinity molecules which means extended room temperature stability.
