In this study, we show that Nanotrap™ Microbiome A Particles capture, concentrate, and enable nucleic acid extraction from multiple STI-causing microbes from 10 mL and 25 mL urine samples using an automated method that requires no filtration or centrifugation. The extracted nucleic acids can be analyzed using multiplex qPCR assays. Moreover, this method enables the detection of STI-causing microbes after a week of sample storage at temperatures up to 37°C when used in the presence of a standard urine sample stabilization reagent.
