Detection and isolation of intact bacteria from clinical specimens such as whole blood and urine are critical for clinical microbiology and translational research. However, complex matrix effects, low microbial burden, and the absence of sample preparation workflows that enable intact bacterial capture limit downstream analysis.
To address these challenges, we evaluated a Nanotrap® Microbiome Particle (magnetic hydrogel particle) based workflow designed to capture intact viable bacteria and enable controlled dissociation for downstream culturing and molecular applications, while concurrently removing interfering substances.
