Wastewater surveillance is the detection and tracking of microbes within a community, offering a scalable

approach to population-wide infectious disease monitoring.(1) The Nanotrap® Microbiome Particles, used

in conjunction with the Nanotrap® PRIME Extraction Kit, provide a simple workflow for the capture of microbes

from wastewater, followed by nucleic acid extraction with enhanced sensitivity for bacterial and viral DNA/RNA.

In this Experiment

The Nanotrap Microbiome® A Particles, Nanotrap® Enhancement Reagent 3, and Nanotrap® Buffer 2 with

the Nanotrap PRIME Extraction Kit were evaluated for the capture, concentration, and extraction of seven relevant

microbes from wastewater samples and compared with a competitor extraction kit.
